Segment II – Embryo-Fetal Developmental Toxicity Studies (Teratology Studies)
EFD studies are conducted to detect adverse effects on the development of the embryo and fetus following test item exposure of the female during the period of major organogenesis.
We have extensive experience and know-how in the evaluation of mouse, rat and rabbit studies according to current regulations including OECD 414, ICH S5, EPA/630/R-96/009 and USEPA OPPTS 870.3600/3700.
Our team travels to your facility and supports/conducts:
- C-section
- External examination
- Fresh visceral examination
At our facility, we perform:
- Visceral examination (microdissection technique)
- Craniofacial examination (Wilson technique)
- Skeletal and cartilage examination (single & double staining)
We provide you with GLP-compliant tabulated results and/or full fetal pathology reports.
