Fibrosis Service
Fibrosis is the built up of excessive connective tissues triggered by repair of injury (like scarring) or reactive processes. The massive presence of extracellular matrix (ECM) as a result of excessive tissue repair process can inhibit tissue and organ functionality.
Beside Lung fibrosis, Liver fibrosis and Kidney fibrosis many other organs can be affected by fibrosis.
Fibrosis is easily recognized by the experienced pathologist and is usually well characterized in a fast and economic by a semi-quantitative grading system.
At AnaPath we apply Quantitative Image Analysis often and if required in a second step for the identification of relative small but critical differences and quantification of additional endpoints.
